Programme Overview

M.Tech. Production Engineering, or Master of Technology in Production Engineering, is a Post-Graduate Production Engineering Course. Manufacturing technology and management science are combined in Production Engineering. Production engineering entails the design, control, and continual development of integrated systems to deliver high-quality goods and services to consumers in a timely and cost-effective way. The Production Engineering course is an interdisciplinary field that requires the collaboration of people with backgrounds in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, product design, marketing, finance, and corporate planning. The Master of Technology programme in Production Engineering focuses on the integrated design and effective planning of the complete manufacturing system, which is growing increasingly complicated as advanced production processes and control systems arise.

How will you benefit

Attracting students and preparing them with the knowledge, practical skills, and ability to work as highly competent engineers in the global economy and graduate studies is advantageous.
The Production Engineering programme prepares graduates for careers in materials and manufacturing processes such as process, assembly, product engineering, manufacturing competitiveness, and system design.
Opportunities exist in manufacturing organisations in both the public and private sectors that are involved in the installation, development, and administration of new production processes, information and control systems,
omputer-controlled inspection, assembly, and handling.

What will you study

M.Tech. in Production Engineering is a two-year, four-semester program.

Syllabus covers planning, designing, and managing production processes for high-quality products.

Emphasizes industry-relevant skills and knowledge.

Subjects include Facilities Planning, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, and more.

  • Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialisation to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems, reaching substantiated conclusions using the first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design and Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems using research-based knowledge and research methods, including the design of experiments, the analysis and interpretation of data, and the synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practise.
  • Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and the need for sustainable development.
